Why did NICCAP3 not use the information from CCRA4-IA?
Though they were published around the same time, under Section 60 of the UK Climate Change Act 2008 Northern Ireland departments are required to address the risks identified in the most recently published Climate Change Risk Assessment by the UK Government. In this case that refers to the CCRA3 (not the Independent Assessment published by the CCC) which was published in 2022. In early 2027, the UK Government will publish CCRA4 using the information from the CCRA4-IA, which in due course will form the basis of NICCAP4.
