Teaching Outdoor Science – Woodlands & Freshwater

This hands-on course explores how woodland and freshwater environments can be used as rich, accessible settings for outdoor science.

Participants will experience a range of engaging fieldwork activities, covering site selection, risk assessment, sampling methods, data collection and simple recording techniques suitable for community and education settings.

This workshop is designed to empower educators and community leaders to deliver meaningful outdoor science experiences that foster curiosity, environmental understanding and connection to place. It is suitable for educators, outdoor leaders, youth workers, volunteers and others working or volunteering in education or community learning.

Adult participants only.

Expect an immersive, 100% outdoor learning experience. Bring suitable outdoor clothing and waterproof footwear!
