Established in January 2024, this Commission boasts a diverse membership of 24 organisations and over 35 individual members from various sectors including government departments, communities, education, and business.

The Derry & Strabane Sustainability and Climate Commission is only the second of its kind in Northern Ireland, underscoring our region’s commitment to pioneering cross-sectoral sustainability and climate action. We are inspired by the collective dedication of our Commission members and their enthusiasm to work as a collaborative group to identify solutions that meet the needs of Derry City and Strabane city and district, as well as the broader region.

The Sustainable Climate Conference 2024 will unite national leaders, policymakers, scientists, industry experts, and community leaders to address the pressing challenges presented by climate change, sustainability, biodiversity loss, and the preservation of our natural environment for the betterment of all our citizens and communities.

Our agenda is designed to foster collaboration and innovation through:

• Panel Discussions that delve into pressing environmental issues and potential solutions.
• Interactive Workshops aimed at driving actionable climate strategies.
