RCGPNI General Practice, Go Greener

Category: Online

We are delighted to invite GP colleagues to join us for a virtual event to discuss the impact of the climate emergency on general practice and the communities GPs serve.

The College in Northern Ireland has adopted “Responding to the climate emergency” as one of our strategic priorities for 2023-24 and we are focusing on increasing awareness of the health impacts of climate change, ensuring sustainability is at the heart of our lobbying work, and supporting colleagues to take steps towards reducing carbon emissions within their own practices.

This session will be co-hosted by Dr Ursula Mason, RCGPNI Chair and Dr Blathnaid Carlin, RCGPNI Climate and Sustainability Representative. We will hear from Dr David Shackles, joint Chair of RCGP Scotland, about their journey towards sustainability in Scotland. We also encourage colleagues to share ideas and insights on small steps that colleagues can take to reduce carbon emissions. This session is free and open to all GPs based in Northern Ireland to attend.
