Climate Resilience Resources for Businesses
Climate NI and Business in the Community NI have been working in collaboration to design and deliver a range of training session to support businesses in Northern Ireland to better understand and provide support and solutions to prepare for the changing climate. The training sessions were initially delivered live as workshops to business audiences but we have adapted them to make them freely available to everyone.
For each of the training sessions we provide the following resources:
- Video recording of the training,
- An editable workbook that you can follow along through the training as an activity book or you can use it separately as a resource with your colleagues,
- Copy of the presentation slides used in the training.
Climate Risk Assessment and Business Continuity Planning
This training aims to equip businesses with the tools and strategies to identify, assess and manage the risks posed by climate change, while ensuring they can maintain operations during and after climate-related disruptions. In this session we will explore the critical steps of Climate Risk Assessment and Business Continuity Planning.

This training will help to build your organisation’s confidence in navigating climate related financial risks. We introduce the essentials of climate‑related disclosure expectations and explore how climate impacts can influence financial performance and long‑term planning. You’ll learn practical ways to integrate climate considerations into budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision‑making.

Guide: Climate Change Resilience for SME Businesses in Northern Ireland
In October 2023, Climate NI launched a guide we’ve developed as a first step to help small and medium sized (SME) businesses understand the impacts of a changing climate and how to report climate-related risks. This guide aims to support businesses to better understand climate-related reporting and simplify the TCFD process so it is more accessible to a range of business sizes and sectors. Climate NI worked in collaboration with sector experts in Invest NI, Business in the Community NI and Marsh to develop this guide. This project is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.
